Right now I'm an iron pure with 33 att and 30 str, 29 hp and 17 pray. My goals are 40 att, 50 str, and 43/44 pray...

Should I invest the extra combat level into getting steel, or getting 2 for black?Or should I stay at 1 def and ride monk's robes to victory? Let me know whatchu think and why, I'm really debating myself on this... Thanks for the help!

BTW, how do I include a poll on here?

And is it worth using a mace if I focus on prayer, or should I stick with scimmy, 2h, and daggers for my training career? The mace would only be used for training and possibly for n00b pk'ing for the pray bonus...

I'd say stick withh 1 def tbh. RSW is the best to ask, he's like a pure bible.

Id say keep your def at one., just cause it seems more like an accomplishment in the long run. It would be uber cool if you had like 80 str, 70 att, and like 43 parayer, and you stil had 1def.. AMAZINGG :wub:

1 def is unquestionably the best defense.

Since you got pray too early, I would not suggest pking much until later on. The type of pure you should aim for is the standard pure, but for early pking, use str pure.

Short term goals:
40 atk
70+ str
31 pray

This is the best possible pure at this level, and use it to learn the ropes of pking. You'll only be fighting other pures at GE. Use a scim and a 2h. It isn't a great idea going other places to pk.

Long term goals:
40 atk
80+ str
80+ range
60+ mage
44 pray

This is the standard pure, the best possible pure in f2p. You will beat every single other build in 1v1s, and tied with 31 pray str pures (who will lose to every single other build :P) It's even more effective in wars because several pures can kill a full runer in seconds but several full runers can't kill a pure in seconds because of their low damage on high hp.

When doing 1v1s, bring range, scim, and 2h. If you are fighting someone with def, keep ranging them down. With high enough range, you won't be missing on rune. If you are attacking pures, pop a few arrows into them from far, and switch to scim when they get close as scim has a lot more damage over time. From there just scim/2h. You can also range/2h with a pray switch. You will have lower damage over time, but you also have luck factor. Generally, people don't eat until below 20 hp, and if you get a lucky range/2h switch on them, then you kill them right away. When scim/2hing, you switch when they are red barred or close to it. For range/2h, since you won't be able to bring them lower than 20 with range, you need to learn when the enemy eats. Let's say if the enemy always eats at 4 pixels of health, when you bring them down to 5 pixels of health, shoot once more and switch to 2h and hope you get a lucky hit.

When pking with a clan, bring range at the very least, because in teams, pures using range has some advantage over pures using melee as you can kill from far away, you can shoot over rocks and barricades, etc. You should also bring fire blasts and binds. When fighting lvl 100+ clans, you will miss sometimes with range since 80 range doesn't hit too well on 80 def with rune, so fire blast them. You binds a lot, because when a main is binded, he can't do anything for 5 seconds. In this time, a few pures can easily KO with range and mage. You can also bring a scim, a 2h or both. When confronting a pure clan, they will be ample opportunities to melee the enemy, so keep switching between scim and range depending on the situation. A 2h is useful for getting KOs when the enemy is binded. Typically in pure wars, the second a bind is thrown, you will see a lot of 2hing being pulled out, and then a flurry of 20+ hits on the binded guy.

Bringing range, scim, 2h, binds, and mage is easily 100k+, so if you are tight on budget, it might not be a good idea to bring all of it.

I'd go for lvl 1 def all way, unless your planning to get str and attack 90+ then you might want to wear rune? if so get it up to 45..
but still at that lvl the def 1 guy is better for fast ko's ;)

Stay with 1 def because you don't want to ruin your pureness.

I would keep it at 1 Defense because then your combat would be lower and steel/black armor is essentially useless against higher levels (But armor is better than no armor I guess). Pures are much less effective at a higher level due to their lack of hitting the enemy and spend much of their time eating due to low defense. If you could just stay at 1 Defense and try to get people to no armor you, it makes the fight faster and you won't be disadvantaged.
EDIT: I've also found that getting 60 attack if f2p for pking GREATLY increases your chances of hitting against rune armor instead of the normal 40 attack pure.
