Title: X-Mas Suit / Hat

K Arthur90 - December 1, 2008 08:21 PM (GMT)
As you may have known, the reward from this year's X-mas event may be a x-mas suit.
But then, no santa suit would be complete with the santa hat.
The problem is that the current trend is that all rewards are now untradeable. So will the suit probably be. But the hat would still be tradeable.
I know it would be unfair with people who spent 13m on a santa hat, but I think that it would be even unfairer to some people own the santa suit but not the hat, while others, with the hat, would brag themselves.
So some options could be thought of for the event rewards.
What do you think?

I think it should be un tradeable, and that they should make a different santa hat, or at least something to go on your head, like a bearded santa hat maybe?? B)

Yeah. good idea. Like a full santa costume, with a "santa pack" as a cape?

I vote nothing should change. I believe that the suit should be untradeable because this was and still is a problem. To my knowledge, I don't believe that Jagex intended players to sell their Holiday items for enormous amounts of gold. They stopped making Holiday items tradeable so it would keep the scam rate low. This used to be a rumor, which I doubt is true, but I've heard that Jagex actually can't fix the old holiday item trading. I doubt it's true, but perhaps they have the option of trading it for historical reasons, like, "this is what we used to do, and now it's different". Besides, if all Holiday items were tradeable, they wouldn't really be worth much. Everyone would get one every year lol. The fact that they aren't tradeable makes the old Holiday Items more expensive. idk, just how I feel lol.

I agree with redeyes since holiday items were intended to show how long you've been playing and not to be sold. Anyways, how would people get more than one suit, such as one for themselves and one to sell?

People that hasn't played since the santa hat x-mas event can buy a santa hat and then brag about how long they've been playing... So the santa hat has lost its "look, i've been playing for ages and you've not" effect

I think that if Jagex suddenly made the santa hats untradeable, people that have more than one hat in the bank would suffer, bugs would occur, etc. etc. yada. yada. all that technical stuff.
My real opinion is that the old santa hat become sth like "dusty santa hat" (for THAT would show your economic power, rather than your playing time, and the new suit comes with a brand new shiny Santa Hat, untradeable and re-retrievable through Diango, which would actually show your playing time.

Kerkennah - December 2, 2008 01:21 AM (GMT)
Jagex should just convert everyone's santa hat into how much gold they are worth right now, that would be the best option.

Puremain - December 2, 2008 12:27 PM (GMT)
Jagex should do nothing about it, they know what there doing. They wouldnt be able to make a ''replacement'' santa hat.. because the old santa's would lose value as no1 would be bothered about them as they could have a new ''fake'' 1 so to speak.
Having the suit, and WANTING a santa would just make people want / have to start saving if they wanted a santa hat.

make it tradable and worth heaps also...need a new rare :P

Kerkennah - December 6, 2008 04:10 PM (GMT)
I don't think jagex would make new rares, and make them tradable. They already think they made a mistake before dropping the rares.

zoro894 - December 6, 2008 10:37 PM (GMT)
I chose a different santa hat, that would be super easy to differ from the old rare santa, and the new one.

K Arthur90 - December 6, 2008 11:19 PM (GMT)
Jagex has actually stated that there will be no more tradeable holiday items, never more.

It will most likely just be a bottom and a top.

I agree, because if you made a hat even remotely mistakeable for the old one, a lot of ppl with the old had would get really pissed off.

zoro894 - December 7, 2008 07:20 PM (GMT)
omg I can imagine a bunch of rich people running around protesting, like the time they took out the wild :P

Kevinsaurus - December 7, 2008 11:51 PM (GMT)
i think it should stay the way it is.
that way, you can give credit to the people who have worked their behinds off to get money for a santa, or to those who have sticked to the game for such a long time.
