I had my first reaction when I was 11. I ate a bit of a cashew and felt immediately sick afterwards. I was taken to hospital and they said I was okay. When I got home not long after I started breaking out in hives and going all red and blotchy everywhere. I can recall looking in the mirror and thinking whoa I look hideous. Haha. I was so itchy and my throat was terrible, I could remember how it itched so badly. So did my ears as they were closing over and feeling really strange. I was having trouble hearing, let alone breathing. I went back to the hospital and they fixed me up and gave me something and some oxygen. I was lucky it was a delayed reaction or I would've died. Next time if happens I'm glad I've got an epipen, because it will be worse and it wouldn't be a delayed one.
