welcome to A BROKEN TOMORROW, a dark angel roleplaying game set after 'FREAK NATION'. the following are the only rules we really have, although they may be subject to change at any time. they are only for the benefit of users here, and we're not trying to show off with a power trip or two. as long as everyone reads & follows these rules, we hope that each & every member of our community can interact and let dark angel live on happily. GENERAL
we are a character account site, so each character must have their own account. no master account for all characters. sign up with a first AND last name, in lowercase. if you're playing a transhuman, or someone else without two names, then you can cut it back to one. if you are able to give two, though, then we ask that you do register with two. no names like 'AlecFan'. If you do require a name change, please contact an admin.
each character must have an application submitted and accepted before they can begin playing our game. all members should check the face claim and designation lists within THIS forum, to be sure that they are listed, and have not doubled anything up. we DO accept clones, but we request that they are kept to a minimum. if there's already a clone for a character, please check with the admins before making another.
we are rated MA; directed at mature audiences, because dark angel was an action/sci fi show, and we do accept a certain level of profanity and sexual content. this doesn't, however, mean that you can swear every second word, or be gross. that's a no-no, and you'll surely be warned, if not worse. don't make it a habit; mature extends to many ages.
we have ZERO tolerance for player bashing and/or abuse. ZERO. any cyber bullying must be reported to the admins, so the appropriate measures can be taken. we are not afraid to remove members for this kind of thing.PLAYING THE GAME
players must only control their own character, unless otherwise stated or discussed. this is called 'god-moding' & it's just another one of those things we tend to hate a lot. ask before you move another person's chess piece, dig?
posts must be a minimum of four paragraphs. it sounds like a lot, but if you trust in yourself and your writing, you'll do absolutely fine. we can be lenient with this one, as we know that sometimes people simply do not have the time or muse, or even experience, to carry out a four paragraph post every time. we will, however, be on the lookout. tiny posts and one liners are a no-go zone. there are many ways to up the word count. you can find helpful hints and tricks for this within THIS forum.
try to post regularly. disappearing members is a major pain in the ass. really. we do hold activity checks every now and then, as well as cleaning out accounts, and messaging those who are inactive for longer periods of time. we don't want to assume you're dead, or get that sad, abandoned feeling.. let us know where you are, or just post regularly. it's a lot easier on everyone.
if you wish to have a past relationship with any character already existing on this board, you must discuss it with them first. do not simply throw in whatever you wish. have a chat about it, just to be sure you're all on the same page. this is especially important with canon characters.
if you are playing a canon, it is absolutely imperative that they are portrayed as a canon. they can stray from their on-screen persona a little for character development, but they will always be a canon, so they should always act like one.
if you are playing an original character, we ask only that they fit into the dark angel universe. this means NO superpowers for ordinaries, and absolutely no 'magic powers'. discounting the transgenics' genetic abilities, we want to remain as realistic as possible.GRAPHICS
standard sizing for character graphics on our site are as follows:
AVATARS 150 x 200
BANNERS 500 x 200
banner sizing does go up to 600 wide, but it stretches the board. we allow text banners,
in addition to those graphics listed above.
member titles are changeable by members after ten posts.
