You would probably need to expand that drastically the F-16s and similar are vastly more complex so you would require more ground staff like engineers. Things like recruiting and retraining will require time and money doesn't help there.

Having a fighter-heavy Air Force isn't really a good idea. You lose a lot of capability and have very little to show for it.

Besides, starting an arms race is a very bad idea. Because you will lose that. Brazil is South America's resident power, not Argentina.

Agreed, In that not the plan, I've retied most of my air force. It is old in used out dated equipment. So now I'm trying to add, better equipment. no more no less. We have one of the best economies in south America, But yet we only use 0.8% of are GDP on defence. So I'm trying to improve are over all capability in defence. I don't want to take over South America. Just give my nation a fighting chance if we were attacked are need to protect are interest. thumbup.png

Isn't Brazil now pretty much under Argentine control, I heard their new president was a pawn of Kirchner hence why they kicked the British out?

There's a difference between procuring new light attack fighters to replace your current shit and buying 100 new aircraft, esco. The former is a modernization package. The latter is a militarization package.

I'm all for political masking and maneuvering, but that's a bit extreme. And especially given the outstanding Falklands issue.

Well all in all, I hope Brazil in Britain do not take it as me trying to muscle in on them, But what's make my RP fun, for me, is what's best for Argentina thumbup.png

To: Prime Minister David Cameron, United Kingdom
From: Ivan Ivanovich Ivanov, Federal Security Service (FSB), Russian Federation

Dear Mr. Prime Minister,

We are writing to inform you that the United States military is interested in designing a modern and presumably very lethal anti-shipping missile with Argentina. In addition, the United States has agreed to sell several modern attack helicopters and two Oliver Hazard Perry class frigates to the neo-fascist government in Buenos Aires.

We hope this information has not caused you undue duress or unease.

With warm regards,

The Federal Security Service

Wrong place, Schwer. And anyways, all of this stuff is public anyways, the British don't need you to tell them about it.

You're actually wrong on both accounts. I fully intended it to be in the OOC thread (which is why it's in this forum in the first place). The casual, joking tone of the message indicates that. And it's not information I would have access to unless I had an FSB agent who just so happened to be in the room when the discussion happened.

And, if that's the case, you've got bigger problems than the political fiasco this information could very easily cause.

And, seriously, with a name like 'Ivan Ivanovich Ivanov' isn't it obvious you're a running gag?

The next person who puts any variation on the word "bear" into their RP titles when dealing with Russia should be made to fight a bear. It was interesting the first few times, now it’s a little laboured…

No, we should see how far we can go with it. Eventually we've got to have a silly name for Russian meetings with every country on the planet, right?

I like how Vanguard just randomly announces that he's going to take the Harriers out of retirement and put them back into service. I mean, if I was the British public, I would think some of these guys need a bear hug.
