Hey, are you allowed to switch characters?

Azerbaijan is kind of boring, and Pakistan is open, so I wanted to know if I could switch? biggrin.gif

We allow switching on a case-by-case basis pending approval from the mods. This is a good start, and you should receive word shortly.

You are, Pakistan is usually a major claim however and considering your previous activity may not be permitted. Really you should try and do something with Azerbaijan, you have an Armenia, Georgia and Iran there is plenty for you to do as you have so many international issues that could be looked at leading to a war or similar. If you do some research you will find that Azerbaijan is really quite an interesting nation with plenty of potential.

If the case is that past activity record is directly correlated to a lack of interest or ambition in Azerbaijan, that moots the point.

Laurent: it would help your case if, like required when claiming a nation in the first place, you gave an outline of ideas or plans regarding Pakistan; or, if you've yet to really formulate them, any kind of reasoning why Pakistan would be a better fit with you. I'd also recommend PMing CSJ, Fish/Suhawk, intrepid, and ChrisRev, as your primary RP partners and direct neighbors for the purpose of getting a feel for what's going to be happening in the region.

Switches are not frowned upon entirely, but there is a bit of an etiquette involved that makes some more pleasant than others. The act of doing a switch is relatively simple, but the lead up to it and decision to do so should be calculated. The guy who asks to switch every other month or so is the "that guy" that nobody should be. Don't be that guy.

Which leads me to suggest that you carefully consider a switch to Pakistan, if it is what you want. Nobody wants to keep you in a place that you do not want to manage, and everyone (except me, because I am a genius) picks that country that is none too exciting. So do consider what you would do with Pakistan, where you want to take it, who you want to deal with (are you going to make life hell for the US and Afghanistan? Buddy up with Russia, buddy up with yourself, buddy up with the US? Kill some people? Make it a genuine democracy? et al) and general strategy, and put that in a paragraph or two. The objective should be to try and plan to have stuff to do for the next several years, or basically months. Obviously not everyday for the next half year are you going to be doing stuff, but the idea is to plan for as long term as imaginable. The other point here is to get you invested into the country possibly to be taken up to reduce the likelihood of losing interest.

I think I'll switch. I actually know things about Pakistan, while I have never even heard of Azerbaijan until 21c.

I will understand if it's denied though; I am a little inexperienced.
