UAV's on border patrol

The government confirmed today that domestically produced drones are patrolling Georgian borders and water ways. Speculation of this was hype around many border towns in Georgia as the small drones had been spotted regularly monitoring the border where crime flurishes with illigal smuggling and other activities. Since starting the government claims it has captured two wanted drug dealers and taken millions of GEL in drugs off the streets of the country. The government reports that by using drones it is saving millions compared to traditional border patrols using manned teams driving around the nation.

Georgia backs Turkey

As the civil war in Syria reaches it's most violent battles seen so far the Republic of Turkey has declared that will intervine militarily in defense of the legitimate government of Syria, the Syrian National Council. This came shortly after the use of chemical weapons allegedly were used by pro-Assad forces in the city of Aleppo. Shortly after opposition members here in Georgia called on the government to do more like Turkey to end the violence. This lead to two days of debate and a vote in the federal assembly. While the vote was not made public shortly after it occured the Government leader in the assembly made this announcement "After much debate, and much consideration, it is the consensus of this assembly that the Republic of Turkey is in the right in this situation. The United Nationas Security council, because of Russia is powerless to stop the violence, and it has gone on far to long. As a result, we fully endorse the Turkish move, and we have given the power the Prime Minister, and his cabinet to do the utmost possible to aid our Turkish allies in their noble cause of ending the violence once and for all" While no movement has come from the Georgian military it is expected that they are planning their next move as of now.

Turkey proposes peacekeepers

With the crisis in syria escalating further the republic of turkey has proposed in the UN security council to a peacekeeping mission in syria. While it is expected russia will veto any motion in order to keep a war criminal in power. Many also believe russia cam be swayed after the chemical weapon attack on Alapo by syrian natinalist forces. As people continue to die in sryia world powers continue to talk as a select few inclouding turkey, georgia and saudi arabia have stepped up to end the killing.

Border crossings to be built


In a surprising announcement the prime minister announced to parlment that border crossings would be set up at the provincial border between georia proper and the two sepretist provinces. In a prepared statement he said "If they want to be seperate then fine, we will erect a border, there will be border guards, there will be taxes, tarrifs, and duty charged on people and goods crossing the border" when pressed for a number it is believed the taxes will be between 5 and 15 percent. As a result the government says this more official route of dealing with the problem will also generate millions to the economy of georgia which will pay off the new crossing and eventually fund social programs. No official comment from the sepretist governments or their russian puppeteer.
