Yeah, probably.

Wouldn't you prefer a base in Oman anyway? God knows they're in love with New Delhi.

Indeed I would.

With the added bonus of not being a complete basketcase. Win-win.

ChrisRev, I don't really have anything else to add, so unless Romney wants to add something now, I'll just go ahead and assume we're done.

I can't wait for the US to export the F-22 to Israel. Considering how often Israel sells US military tech to China, it's only a matter of time before that technology proliferates to... unsavory actors :-P

Ring Noda up, ladies and gentlemen. He's officially bought and paid for.

I can't imagine this blowing up in anyone's face. Not a chance of that.

Umm... where did you find out about GRU operations in Syria? At best it's a rumour, no different to rumours that the CIA or MI6 is operating there. I'm not sure information like that would be left lying around by the Syrians for Saudi commandos to pick up. It'd be highly restricted.

In the interest of fairness, Syria imploded to building precisely to prevent any information from escaping. I'm not sure what the protocol is here at 21c, so I'll leave it to you guys to figure out how much info he got.

This would require a mod ruling considering on one hand I ripped out hard drives and grabbed files, so as long as my people made it out, to which no post was made to say they might not of. While on the other what info was there, how much did i actually grab and such

The implosion was meant to kill everyone (the attackers as well as the head of the GSD). Let me quote from the pilothouse post:

QUOTE
After sending all important information to more secure government facilities, Mohammed said a quick prayer. As the gunfire in the hallway subsided and the attackers neared his office, he started the detonation sequence. Just as the attackers kicked open his office door, the building went up in a fiery inferno, killing everyone inside.

That's fair, I was just speaking to my intentions. As I said, I'm still getting used to the protocol here.

Is this still something that needs mod intervention, or have you guys more or less sorted it out?

give us a day or two and we'll have it sorted out, Bruce I think the best way to go about this is for you to take out that last sentance and we just finish off the RP

QUOTE (Saudi Arabia (Zodiac) @ 30 Oct 2012 21.23.56)
If you didn't notice my special forces raided the Syrian GSD which is in charge of internal and external intelligence, an agency your agents would work closely with. I got my hands on their files thus i know your there because files and coomunications would be mentioning you, remember this was the GSD's HQ I raided so all intelligence goes right there and is stored there.

There are several assumptions here, namely:

a) That Syrian Intelligence would be informed of Russian ops in Syria. This is not necessarily the case. Indeed, Operation Keyhole is primarily about providing help to the Syrian military. It is likely that some intelligence from Russian sources would be passed to the GSD, but this would have no specific information about the level of activity of Russian operatives in Syria. At best you can hold a reasonable belief that Russia is providing some covert support to the Assad regime in terms of intelligence sharing. Most of the world probably assumes that this is happening in any event, so it's no great revelation.

b) You assume that the files you got hold of contain the information about Russian operatives in Syria. They might contain the names of some embassy staff in Damascus who are SVR/GRU (if Moscow has chosen to declare this to the Syrians, which is entirely possible), but apart from that there wouldn't be many specifics. I doubt Russia is completely open and honest with Assad about everything.

c) As stated above, Russia's operations are focusing on support for the Syrian military. It's therefore reasonable to suggest that most of Russia's help would be focused in the Ministry of Defence/the Military Intelligence Directorate, and not the GSD. Therefore the GSD raid would throw up limited information.

Information would still flow through the GSD because it handles internal matters as well as external so it would be working with the MID when it comes to the rebels. I am not trying to get names and faces here, my only goal was to be hey there are Russian agents here (point giant neon sign at Syria)

But this isn't new information. Russia, like America, has intelligence operatives in pretty much every country in the world. Including Saudi Arabia.

Umm, yeah, as I said that's no great revelation. You can guarantee that Washington, London, Paris, Berlin, Tel Aviv, Ankara etc. etc. etc. all assume that Russian intelligence agencies are active in Syria (and the vast majority of countries across the world).

Would you be shocked if it was revealed that the CIA was operating in Vietnam or Egypt or Ukraine? I wouldn't. It's no huge leap of the imagination to assume that this is going on anyway, even if you don't have solid proof.
