Well, you'd finally have a 1st gen again.
I'd be checking out what condition it's in first, might be a pain in the arse to fix up. |

Were all la lancers in the Philippines released with the L shaped taillights ?
I also noticed a slight variation from Australian models in the back bumper bar and rear beaver panel to accomadate larger lic plates. What is the grill on that yellow one in the add, was that another variation from Au models or from another vehicle? I think you should buy it, imagine how happy it would be |

Im from malaysia actually, and it is incredibly rare to see a L shaped taillights 1stgen here. I've seen like only 3 on the road including my own in my lifetime so far. The usual fare is the telephone shaped tailights aka EL model or the straight SL ones. BTW I've never seen a 2 door 1stgen in Malaysia b4 in my life as well..
Tempting tempting...u guys dont think the car has been invovled in a crash somehow? I mean the bonnet doesnt close properly and the chrome headlight cover is dinged..Speaking of which.. i never seen that kind of grill before..hmm |

The grill looks non-OEM to me.

Yup, I agree with Phil. Looks like it crashed too. Up to you... me? I'm skeptical about it. |

I'd certainly go for one, if I wasn't totally obsessed with Lancers, those MkI's and RS2000 are actually pretty good cars, and the Kent X-Flow engines were Fords motor engineers first steps in a logical direction... (if you've seen the amount of "fixit-jobs" in the smallblock 289 (with a 4 speed matchup) from the old Mustang/Falcons then you'd know what I mean) |

Yeah...Research really is required when going for the "older" cars. I know very little about the Escort, except that they are a pretty solid, (semi)reliable car that seem to have spare parts jumping out of the ground.
The only reason I say semi reliable is from my one experience with them, at my rally club. I've seen the MkI catch fire twice now Just for reference, at that Khanacross, the Beast suffered a blocked fuel line (which for future reference, was remedied by the club's car guru, just by sticking his hand over the carby and revving hard, *toot*ed the blockage straight out! ) As well as that she was suffering around about 90% radiator core blockage, which still didn't stop competing or from getting home! ...at 60km/h for a 250km drive! |

Something about the Euro Fords and Fire? We once had a MKIV Cortina and it caught fire while driving down our drive way... Semi-reliable... Yes! The Shifter also came off in my moms hand once and the fuel gauge was a stick that we would dip in the tank
Celeste looks Sweet!!! Heavy though so you'll need a bigass engine to compensate! |
